Forres (Farrais) is a town and former royal burgh situated in the north of Scotland on the Moray coast, approximately 28 miles east of the Event Centre in Inverness.
Event Centre: Forres Football/Bowling Clubhouse, Grant Park (OS grid ref NJ040590).
Car Park: Grant Park Football playing field (entry at OS grid ref NJ039588 from South Street) maximum distance to the Event Centre 500m.
Travel: Using public transport (bus or train) is encouraged and possible. If driving, please follow these travel directions to reach the event. There may be other possible routes but this is the route agreed with local police and other relevant official bodies.
Traffic using A96 (coming from West and East) must enter/exit Forres from the West via A96/B9011 roundabout (signed from the roundabout at OS grid ref NJ027586). Traffic from the South joins signed route (A940 from St Catherine’s Road, B9010 from St Leonard’s Road).
This Open Sprint race will take place in the morning, allowing participants to travel to Darnaway afterwards for the Highland O-Fest and to spectate at the WOC Middle Distance race.

Because of road crossings, juniors aged under 16 on the date of the event are only permitted on the Junior courses.

Entries
Entry to this Sprint race is now closed, and there will be NO Entry On the Day.
Numbers were capped, as demand exceeded the number of available start slots. Some of the original classes were split into 2 courses, to accommodate greater numbers. The limit on all courses was 120 entries, and waiting lists are in operation for the Men's Open, Women's Open, Men's Veteran, and Men's SuperVet classes. This race is the 5th event in the 2015 Scottish Orienteering Urban League, and the 12th event in the 2015 UK Urban League.

Junior courses: M/W12- course is based within Grant Park and should not encounter any traffic. There are some easy TD 3 legs across open park land.
M/W16- course is part urban/part park/forest up to TD 3 and planned in accordance with BOF guidelines regarding traffic. Courses have been planned to avoid the need to cross any busy roads and there is one manned road crossing point which is timed out for a maximum of 60 seconds.
Starts: -4 minute call up for both Starts
Start time must be adhered to as all courses are full and a late start may not be possible.
Main start is 500m walk from event centre (all courses except M/W12-).
Park start (for M/W12-) is 200m from event centre - adjacent to West edge of main parking and en route to main start follow signs and tapes.
Finish: Within main arena.
Out Of Bounds (OOB): Forres town centre and B9011 from the East are OOB until after your run.
Traffic: Competitors should be aware that they are likely to encounter slow moving traffic on some of the quiet roads and should take appropriate care when crossing.
Manned Crossing Points: Course 6 (M/W16-) will have one mandatory timed-out road crossing. Great care must be taken by all competitors when crossing any road within the competition area.
Dogs: Must be kept on a lead in the car park. Dogs are not allowed on courses with competitors. Dog walkers may be encountered in the competition area.
First Aid: Will be provided by the First Aid station, located in the Event Centre.
