Achagour is a totally new area for the majority of competitors, with only a small number of Elite competitors crossing into this area on Day 6 of Moray 2013.
The extension of this area into Moss-side and parts of Belivat will provide an excellent orienteering challenge with a variety of terrain types. Keppernach bounds the competition area to the northwest. The Race Arena has a very pleasant outlook, including the River Findhorn and Ardclach Bell Tower to the east and Achagour Fishing Ponds to the west.
Many thanks to Inverness Field Archery Club and Mr & Mrs Mackintosh at Achagour Farm, for their cooperation in allowing access to the field archery area at Achagour.
Day 1 - Daily Digest
After some recent mixed weather Day 1 of the S6D at Achagour proved warm and pleasant and there was a real festive feeling in the race arena. At the request of the planners who had concerns over forestry operations further north the race was on to find a suitable new site that would still allow access to at least part of the mapped area. The solution was to shift everything south a few kilometres, and with many thanks to Anthony and Christopher Laing we gained permission for a large flat field that then dropped away down to a very convenient location for traders tents and the organisational structure of entries, information, download, first aid and more.

Highland 2015 Bus Timetable
Important note for all Main Competition days
Bus passengers have been allocated one of two groups, called “BUS1” and “BUS2”. Because space is limited, it is essential that you travel at the correct bus time for your group. Your bus ticket will show which group you are in. On some days, BUS2 is earlier than BUS1.
Buses will run from the Campsite (Bught Park) and the Event Centre (Eden Court). The stop for Eden Court is on the south side of the theatre, on Bishop’s Road.
Bus passengers should collect a copy of the daily newsletter from a box at the door of the Competitor Shelter in the arena. There is one copy per family or group.
We are afraid that there are now no more bus passes available to purchase for travel to and from the events. The full capacity of buses has now been reached with those competitors who pre-booked through the on-line booking system.
