Day 4: Culteuchar and Dron

Culteuchar and Dron

Thu 1st August

This is the fastest and most open area being used for Strathearn 2019.  There is a mix of open grazed moorland and some areas of heather with only the longest courses reaching the more dense conifer plantations with their intricate ride systems.  There are numerous line features (ruined walls, fences, footpaths and ditches) and some fields with sheep and cattle (out of bounds) as well as enclosures for rearing birds (to be avoided).  All courses finish through a mixed area of woodland.

The Livestream today is focused on the M/W 65L but not exclusively.

Overview - Day 4 - Culteuchar and Dron

We promised a variety of terrain types and a few surprises.  Culteuchar & Dron was very different from the past few days and offered fast running over closely cropped grassland before descending into the woods.  And what a finish – who would believe 2,500 orienteers would end up in someone’s back garden?

Live Video Streaming

and GPS Tracking

The aim of the Livestream is to cover the breadth and depth of orienteering that we see every two years at the Scottish 6 Days. Therefore, the coverage will focus on different age classes each day. As well as the Livestream there will be GPS tracking available separately.

Please check if you have been selected to carry a tracker.

See below for the links to each days coverage.
