Fast map reading and good map memory skills will be the keys to success in the Mountain Bike Orienteering events. Bring your bikes to the Scottish 6 Days and come and try it!

A trip to Scolty Hill, near Banchory, to orienteer on bikes is a great rest day option.

Entries to the rest day race races will be through the  British Mountain Bike Orienteering (BMBO) website.

Entries are limited and will be on a first come first served basis.

Three courses are available.

  • Course A – Long, 15km. Hilly and fairly tough
  • Course B – Medium, 10km. Not quite as hilly or tough.
  • Course C – Short, 5km Suitable for all – beginners, families, seniors and juniors.

Scolty has an extensive network of tracks on a forested hill just outside of Banchory.

Adults £11 and juniors £5.

A limited number of map boards are available to hire for £3 and dibbers for £1. Reserve by email to mormtbo@gmail.com (First pay/first reserved).

If you are not a BMBO member you will ned to register as a day rider (this is free) then enter your course. There is a FLS car park fee payable at a machine or using the Ringo App. The nearest toilets are 1.4 miles away in Bellfield car park, Banchory.
