We are aware that a number of people are considering cycling to some of the days, especially Days 3, 4 and 5 so we have put together suggested routes to avoid busier roads.

Day 1 cycle route: Forres to Lossie Forest – 34km

Please note that there is no formal parking in Forres on Days 1 and 2.

Day 2 cycle route: Forres to Darnaway – 10km

Please note that there is no formal parking in Forres on Days 1 and 2.

Day 3 cycle route: Forres Academy to Roseisle (Burghead) – 20km

Leave Forres Academy to cross the A94 at the A940 junction and pick up Sustrans Route 1 via the road to the railway station.
Follow this route to Kirkton and then leave Route 1 on to the B9301 to Burghead.
The Arena is on the left as you enter Burghead.

Follow the marshals’ directions.

For those staying at campsites along the coast, you may consider cycling from there:

From Silver Sands, Lossiemouth – 9km
From West Beach, Hopeman – 3.5km
From Findhorn Bay Caravan Park – 13.5km

Days 4 & 5 cycle route: Forres Academy to Culbin (Snab of Moy) – 8km

Leave Forres Academy to cross the A96 at the A940 junction.
The road to the left of the rail station over the railway joins Sustrans Route 1.
Follow this route to cross the River Findhorn at the pedestrian bridge at Broom of Moy and then round to Kintessack where the route meets up with the bus drop off/pick up point at the bus stop.
Follow the signs/tapes down the lane behind the bus stop then follow the ‘green road’ alongside the woods towards the Arena.

If you coincide with a bus drop off you will have to dismount and walk with them along this last half km or so and in any case when you get to the crossing point where cars will be coming in from the left when bikes must be walked down in to the Arena and parked up along the fence by the forest.

Follow the marshals’ directions.

For those staying at campsites along the coast, you may consider cycling from there:

From Findhorn Bay Caravan Park  to Kintessack bus stop (see route notes above) – 13km
From Parkdean, Nairn – 13km (the last part of this route joins cars along the rough track down to the Arena; take care –  we recommend you dismount).
From Old Mill, Brodie – 5km (the last part of this route joins cars along the rough track down to the Arena; take care –  we recommend you dismount).
